Achievements of 2008
One of the main changes was a new name of the company. With this change we decided to mark the new stage of the company development and tried to overcome association only with QUIK system. The company has already offered to its clients not only QUIK but also solutions on the base of QORT program platform as well as a range of dealing systems and solutions integrated into the brokers websites. Technical centers of the company providing outsourcing, hosting and back-up services work very intensively. In the future ARQA Technologies will develop a spectrum of products and services to help banks and investment companies in complex automation of their activity in financial markets, and therefore in considerable rise of their effectiveness. In achievement of this goal, ARQA Technologies tries to keep and add new quality to the tradition of the ‘client bias’ and to the wish to suggest to each client an optimal set of products and services, in spite of the client base rise and a product line broadening.
In 2008 the company’s client base grew appreciably. During the year 37 banks and investment companies became our new clients using QUIK, 29 of them have installed the complex on their own technical facilities and 8 use outsourcing on the facilities of ARQA Technologies Moscow Technical Center. 4 companies have bought and applied the solutions on the base of QORT platform.
In 2008 the company was paying considerable attention to the development of its Moscow Technical Center. At the end of the year the Center has served 35 banks and investment companies; the amount of end users served daily exceeded 11 000 people.
Achievements of 2007
The key event of the year was the issue by the company of a fundamentally new product, a software platform for end-to-end automation of broker operations, QORT. This platform was a basis for implementation of midQORT, a broker’s middle-office software. For the past year, four midQORT systems have been adopted by broker companies with another six being in the process of introduction.
The QUIK internet trading system is the principal product of the company that becomes increasingly popular among brokers. Within a year, as many as 50 QUIK-Broker and QUIK-Dealer software packages have been purchased. Besides, another five brokers leased QUIK from SMVB Technical Center, Moscow and four stock market members became new users of QUIK-Stocks.
SMVB-IT has intensive relations with major Russian exchange markets in the area of developing and upgrading technologies of interaction between exchange trading and accounting systems and brokerage systems. The company’s employees are members of Technical Committees of MICEX Equity and Bond Section and RTS.
In 2010 the functionality of solutions developed on the base of the QORT program platform were considerably widened and updated.
The optimization of considerable number of back office backQORT components was undertaken to provide support of the increasing number of investment companies operations.
New modules for monitoring and scheduling were developed. The integration with additional QUIK modules was updated.
In backQORT the next features for accounting in trust management were developed:
building trust management report for company’s clients,
VAR-analysis module,
management reporting module.
New features for risk management and bank/investment company’s management reporting were developed in middle office midQORT. Module for PnL estimation was considerably updated.
The daughter company «ARQA Technologies Ukraine” was registered to widen the line of solutions to be provided to the Ukrainian customers. One of the main tasks for ARQA Technologies subsidiary is to organize the Technical center in Kiev for provision of outsourcing and hosting services in Ukraine.
The first steps in implementation of ARQA Technologies’ solutions in financial companies of Kazakhstan were undertaken. They provided the possibility to trade at ETS exchange.
During the year the company has produced 4 new versions of the QUIK Workstation software. Software of QUIK Workstation for PDA PocketQUIK was considerably developed. The server-end software of the new webQUIK version was optimized. WebQUIK functionality to work with charts was essentially widened.
In 2009 new versions of purpose-oriented trade terminals for trust managers (TrustManager) and risk managers (CoLibri) were released. They have new features that were thought out during negotiations and consultations with the company’s clients. Among new software for the users, the terminal module CoLibri FM deserved attention. It allows monitoring the risk indicators while trading at the derivative markets.
In 2009 great attention was paid to increasing the process speed of the QORT program platform and to optimizing the work of all the platform components. The functionality of the system was considerably widened according to the users’ requests.
In 2009 ARQA Technologies presented to all the interested parties its new web-sitearqa.ru, which allows to find all the necessary information about the company, its software and services.
Following the changes and innovations in the MICEX and RTS trading systems, in 2008 a possibility for banks to participate in the credit auctions of the Bank of Russia and for the broker’s clients to trade at the RTS ‘classical market’ was implemented. The access to trading by futures at the National Commodity Exchange was granted to the users. Trading interfaces to the Ukrainian Exchanges — PFTS (order-driven market) and the Ukrainian Exchange — were offered to the market participants. In the framework of the project with GL two new trading systems were attached — XETRA and EDX.
Banks and investment companies using QUIK were offered new Q2Q Service. It permits to organize the access to the exchange trading systems for traders and clients of one company through the QUIK server of another company. This service together with other options of QUIK allows setting the multilevel access systems to a wide spectrum of instruments and trading regimes.
Another product – QORT program platform -is also actively developing. In 2007 on the base of this platform software of a broker middle office – midQORT – was worked out and brought out to the market. In 2008 another product was built up and presented to the market – a broker back office backQORT. Thus, the company has finished a creation of ‘front-to-back solution’ for automation of the brokerage business.
At the end of 2008 the solutions based on QORT platform have been implemented in 10 investment companies and banks.
Pursuant to current trends in the exchange trading systems, in 2007 QUIK enables support for OTC trade registration at MICEX Equity and Bond Section and RTS, access to trading derivatives on MICEX Equity and Bond Market and support of intermediate concentration at FORTS.
Totally, seven new versions of QUIK user software have been issued. The QUIK Workstation (v.5.08–5.09) enables export to the AmiBroker analytic system. The functionality of the built-in language QPILE has been significantly enhanced, in particular, it is now possible to call a subroutine code saved in other files, values of any lines on the chart or parameters of the current connection to the server. The AJAX technology was used to implement the trading terminal webQUIK (v.3.13) available with an English-localized interface as well. The traffic used by the PDA version of trading terminal, PocketQUIK (v.2.6), is twice less now owing to sample date request from the server.
